The central question is whether the Rams’ advantage through the air is strong enough to justify laying a field goal on the road. Los Angeles has the better passing outlook, but Philadelphia can answer through Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley on the ground. Add recent turnover trouble and injuries to important pass catchers, and neither offense has a completely clean path.
Two different paths to moving the ball
The latest lines make Los Angeles a three-point favorite. That puts the focus on whether Matthew Stafford and the Rams can turn their passing advantage into enough separation against an Eagles offense built to control the game differently.
Our projections put the Rams near 359 total yards, including about 248 through the air. Philadelphia comes in around 342 total yards, but the more revealing split is on the ground: roughly 132 rushing yards for the Eagles compared with 112 for Los Angeles.
That contrast gives each team a clear route. Stafford has the higher-volume passing outlook, while Hurts and Barkley give Philadelphia more ways to sustain drives on the ground. If the Eagles establish that advantage, they can shorten the game and keep the margin narrow. If they’re pushed into a pass-heavy response, the matchup becomes more comfortable for Los Angeles.
The Rams’ passing game showed both its ceiling and its risk in a 30-26 loss at Denver. Stafford threw for 390 yards, but a fourth-quarter pick-six and an interception in the end zone on the final play helped erase a 16-0 halftime lead.
Philadelphia is coming off a much flatter performance. The Eagles produced 248 yards, committed three turnovers and gained only 62 yards after halftime in their 27-7 loss to Chicago. Barkley still ran for 82 yards on 15 carries, reinforcing why the ground game is Philadelphia’s clearest counterweight here.
Receiving injuries add uncertainty
The latest injury report lists Puka Nacua as questionable with a hip injury after he was limited Wednesday. That’s meaningful for an offense whose strongest route in this matchup runs through Stafford and the passing game.
Philadelphia has concerns of its own. DeVonta Smith is questionable with a hamstring injury after missing Wednesday’s walkthrough, while Dallas Goedert is doubtful with an MCL injury after also sitting out. Their availability matters most if the Eagles can’t control the game on the ground and Hurts needs to generate more through the air.

What the spread is asking bettors to decide
Through the first three games of 2026, Philadelphia is 0-3 against the spread and Los Angeles is 1-2. Those are small samples, but they reflect the uneven play both teams are trying to leave behind.
The strongest case for Los Angeles is straightforward: Stafford can create chunk yardage, and the Rams hold the more favorable passing projection. Philadelphia’s counter is just as clear. Its projected rushing edge can reduce Stafford’s possessions, protect a potentially depleted receiving group and keep the game within a narrow number.
Ultimately, the matchup turns on which offensive identity survives the pressure points. A game driven by Stafford plays to Los Angeles’ best advantage, but turnovers remain the main counterweight. If Hurts and Barkley can keep Philadelphia ahead of the chains, the Eagles have a credible route to neutralizing that passing edge and making every possession matter.
