Ty Jerome scored nine straight points late on Monday to get Memphis to overtime. That same night, Indiana got within two of Atlanta with only six players available. DraftKings makes Memphis a 6.5-point favorite on Wednesday. If the Pacers can stay within reach again, the Grizzlies may need another strong finish just to pull away.
Memphis has turned every win into a cover
The Grizzlies covered in all six of their wins. One came by five in Utah, where Memphis was favored by 1.5. That same margin would leave the Grizzlies short of Wednesday’s spread. They’ve also won by 21 at Portland and 31 at home against Sacramento, so those six covers include very different kinds of wins.
Jerome scored 40 in Monday’s 135–134 overtime loss to New Orleans, with 18 from Cameron Boozer and 16 from Jaylen Wells. Indiana stayed close by spreading the work around. Jay Huff scored 22, and Braden Smith handed out 10 assists in the 108–104 loss to Atlanta. It was the second time in the Pacers’ five straight losses that they finished within five points.
Ivica Zubac, Obi Toppin and Kelly Oubre Jr. missed the Atlanta game and are all questionable for Wednesday. Memphis center Quinten Post is also questionable with an ankle injury.
