Islanders Parlay Picks vs. Devils: Side & Support Parlay Plays

Bo Horvat scored and Matthew Schaefer supplied two assists when the Islanders beat New Jersey in October. If you’re backing New York again, they offer two different ways to look for a contribution: a goal or assist from Horvat, or a helper from the blue line through Schaefer.

For these Islanders parlay picks, both are compared in New York’s wins. Nico Hischier’s point under adds the other side of the matchup, using his record in Devils losses. Side & Support puts those results beside each player’s all-game record, so you can decide which contribution fits your view of an Islanders win.

Matthew Schaefer over 0.5 assists (+100)

Schaefer has set up a goal in every Islanders win this season, including their recent victories over Nashville and Minnesota. He also had a helper in the latest loss to Carolina. If your New York view includes scoring help from the defense, he gives you that route without needing to score himself.

An assist was +100, compared with −170 for his broader point over. Both have covered the same seven Islanders wins this season, but the point offer also lets a goal do the job. His losses to Los Angeles and Dallas show why that extra way to win matters: he scored in each without an assist.

The current run is much stronger than his longer Islanders record. Across regular-season appearances since October 1, 2025, he’s had a helper in 25 of 50 wins and 41 of 97 games overall. Seven perfect winning games make the recent passing run interesting; they don’t erase how often New York previously won without an assist from him.

Bo Horvat over 0.5 points (−180)

Horvat gives you more flexibility about how the contribution arrives. He scored without an assist in the Islanders’ wins over Nashville and Minnesota, while assists were enough against Vancouver and Anaheim. That’s a reason to consider the point rather than pick one side of his scoring.

He’s on the expected first line, but the latest two games have been quiet: no points against Edmonton or Carolina, despite three shots on goal in each. His perfect record in New York wins sits alongside four scoreless games overall this season, so liking the Islanders doesn’t make the point a given.

The longer comparison is less dramatic, though still useful: a point in 34 of 43 Islanders wins and 51 of 83 appearances since October 1, 2025. If you prefer a forward who can get there by scoring or setting someone else up, Horvat offers that choice at a higher cost than Schaefer’s assist.

Nico Hischier under 0.5 points (−115)

Hischier has gone without a point in every Devils loss this season, including New Jersey’s earlier defeat to these Islanders. He was also held off the scoresheet in the latest win over St. Louis. That gives you an opposing-player option if your New York view includes keeping the Devils’ first line quiet.

His assist under was −245, while no points was −115. The extra payout comes from asking for more: either a goal or a helper beats this under. Hischier’s two goals in the Dallas win and his assist against Edmonton show both ways it can go wrong.

There are only five Devils defeats behind that perfect current record, and he’s listed as their expected first-line center. Across his New Jersey regular-season appearances since October 1, 2025, he went without a point in 31 of 45 losses and 49 of 98 games overall. Plenty of losses in that longer record still included a contribution from him; treat the quieter current stretch as the angle, rather than assume a New Jersey defeat shuts him out.

Which contribution suits your Islanders view?

If you want to back New York’s scoring, Schaefer’s assist offers the bigger payout with the more specific requirement. Horvat’s point costs more and lets either a goal or an assist count. Hischier’s under is the alternative when your read starts with the Islanders limiting New Jersey’s top line.

Horvat and Schaefer can contribute to the same goal, and their records use the same seven Islanders wins. Those individual rates don’t establish a combined parlay probability or price. Choose the route you like without feeling you need all three.
