Three straight games with at least three assists have given Trey Murphy III a steadier recent contribution than his scoring. He has reached 15 points in only one of New Orleans’ first four games, but his passing has remained useful through the latest offensive struggles. That makes the assist market worth separating from a bet on a scoring rebound.
Zion Williamson supplies the more direct scoring route. He has reached 15 points in all four games, including 25 against Denver on Wednesday. These Pelicans parlay picks compare his lower scoring milestone with Murphy’s three-assist mark, two different contributions to consider if you are backing a New Orleans win over Sacramento.
That is a hypothetical team-win premise, not a prediction supplied by the player records. Both clubs enter 0–4, with New Orleans at −230 in the morning DraftKings game snapshot. The historical comparisons below show what has accompanied Pelicans wins and how often each requirement occurred across the same players’ other New Orleans games.
Supporting options for a Pelicans win
Both records cover last season and this one with New Orleans, and each all-game comparison uses the same period and club. Because the Pelicans have yet to win this season, the 22- and 21-win samples come from last season. Current form offers a separate check on how those older patterns fit the players’ present roles.
| Player & prop | Odds | With this result | All games |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zion Williamson 15+ points |
−488 | 86.4% 19 of 22 New Orleans wins |
83.3% 55 of 66 New Orleans appearances |
| Trey Murphy III 3+ assists |
−179 | 81.0% 17 of 21 New Orleans wins |
72.9% 51 of 70 New Orleans appearances |
These are individual DraftKings prices from the October 29 morning snapshot. Both are actual inclusive milestone offers, requiring at least the displayed number; prices and available combinations can change.
Zion Williamson: 15+ points at −488
Williamson scored at least 15 points in 19 of 22 Pelicans wins (86.4%) and 55 of 66 New Orleans appearances (83.3%) overall. The improvement in wins is modest because this has already been a frequent result across his games. The stronger part of the current case is how the lower requirement fits his opening-season production.
His first four point totals were 22, 23, 17 and 25. He played 32 or 33 minutes in each, including 32 minutes in Wednesday’s game against Denver. He is listed at power forward in the expected lineup. The recent evidence supports using a modest scoring contribution without needing to assume a huge offensive night.
There were still three winning misses in the longer sample: nine points in 21 minutes, four in 11 minutes and fourteen in 28 minutes. All remain included. The shorter appearance is a real result, not something removed to improve the percentage, while the fourteen-point game shows that a normal workload can still leave him just below the mark.
DraftKings’ 18+ points alternative was −241. It hit in eighteen of those twenty-two wins and forty-nine of sixty-six games overall. That gives a much less expensive price for asking for three more points, but Williamson’s 17-point game in the earlier Denver meeting would have missed it. The 15+ option covered all four games this season; 18+ covered three.
The decision is whether the lower requirement is worth the much shorter −488 price to you. The 15-point option has occurred frequently, with only a small separation between wins and all games. It should be judged as a costly, modest scoring condition rather than proof that a New Orleans victory makes this outcome safe.
Trey Murphy III: 3+ assists at −179
Murphy handed out at least three assists in 17 of 21 Pelicans wins (81.0%), compared with 51 of 70 New Orleans appearances (72.9%) overall. That is a less consistent winning record than Williamson’s 15-point comparison. The meaningful distinction is the passing requirement and its recent support, rather than a claim that all of Murphy’s production has been steady.
His assist totals this season were one, three, four and three. In the latest game he had six points but still supplied three assists in 30 minutes. He had four assists alongside 26 points in the earlier Denver meeting, and three assists while scoring nine against Utah. Those examples show how he can reach this mark through very different scoring performances.
He is listed at small forward in the expected lineup, with recent playing time of 31 minutes against Utah, 37 in the first Denver game and 30 in the latest one. This remains a four-game current-season sample, with no New Orleans win in it. The one-assist opener against Indiana is the recent miss, and his three hits in four games are a 75.0% occurrence rate, below the longer winning sample’s 81.0%.
Jordan Poole’s ankle injury adds a current backcourt uncertainty. He left Wednesday’s game after seven minutes and is listed day-to-day; his availability for this matchup remains unsettled. That leaves the Pelicans’ guard rotation subject to change, rather than establishing a new assist role for Murphy.
All four historical winning misses finished at two assists, including the latest one in a 35-minute appearance in March. A player can stay involved for a full game and still fall one assist short. That matters particularly here because two of his three recent hits landed exactly on three.
The actual 4+ assists offer was +136, but its history was much less consistent: fourteen of twenty-one wins and forty of seventy games overall, with only one hit in the four games this season. The plus-money return therefore comes with a materially different requirement. The −179 three-assist option is the useful comparison for a reader who wants Murphy’s playmaking contribution without making a bet on a larger scoring total or a fourth assist.
Choose between scoring consistency and a passing contribution
Williamson’s 15+ points has the higher historical occurrence rate and four current-season hits, with a substantial price cost and only a modest increase in Pelicans wins. Murphy’s 3+ assists is less expensive and separates his passing from his uneven recent scoring, but its 81.0% winning rate and the recent opener’s miss leave more visible room for failure.
These are individual alternatives to assess alongside your New Orleans view. They share an offense, and Murphy’s assists depend on teammates making shots; separate hit rates do not establish independence or a combined parlay probability. Choose the contribution you want rather than assuming every addition improves the wager.
