CJ McCollum had five assists off the bench in Atlanta’s last win over Washington, while Onyeka Okongwu made two threes. Both finished above today’s under lines. If you’re backing the Wizards in the rematch, the question is whether those parts of Atlanta’s offense look more like they have in Hawks losses.
Starting with a Wizards-win scenario, this Side & Support edition compares two Atlanta unders in Hawks defeats with each player’s full season so far. Both have stayed below their current lines in all four losses. That’s a small starting point, so the recent games and older Atlanta records matter as much as those perfect rows.
Wizards parlay picks: two Atlanta unders to compare
The records below cover current-season regular-season appearances for Atlanta, including starts and bench outings.
| Player & prop | Odds | With this result | All games |
|---|---|---|---|
| CJ McCollum Under 3.5 assists |
+119 | 100.0% 4 of 4 ATL losses |
66.7% 6 of 9 appearances |
| Onyeka Okongwu Under 1.5 made threes |
−108 | 100.0% 4 of 4 ATL losses |
55.6% 5 of 9 appearances |
CJ McCollum: under 3.5 assists
McCollum handed out one, three, one and two assists in Atlanta’s four losses. Those weren’t all short nights: two came in thirty minutes. If you expect Washington to win, this gives you a way to look at McCollum’s playmaking without needing McCollum to stop scoring.
The +119 price is the plus-money choice, but his latest games explain why the under still asks something of you. His last four games brought eight, two, twelve and five assists. The three bigger totals came in Hawks wins. The five came against Washington, when he played twenty-five minutes off the bench. A reserve role hasn’t kept him below this line; he’s projected to come off the bench again.
The wider Atlanta record is less convincing than the four-loss start. Across the previous and current regular seasons, he stayed below four assists in thirteen of eighteen Hawks losses and twenty-five of fifty appearances overall. That makes this a short-season comparison worth weighing, rather than a long-running rule about how he plays in defeat.
Onyeka Okongwu: under 1.5 made threes
Okongwu made zero, one, one and zero threes in those same four Atlanta losses, playing between twenty-six and thirty-one minutes. At −108, this option asks him to finish with no more than one make from deep. It’s a different basketball question from McCollum’s passing, with less potential profit on the same stake.
His shooting has been a problem for the under lately. Okongwu made four, zero, two and two threes in his last four games, including two in the latest meeting with Washington. Three of those four appearances would miss this line. He stayed below two makes in only five of nine games this season, which keeps the distinction between Hawks wins and losses central to the case.
Go back through the previous and current regular seasons, still using Atlanta appearances only, and he finished below two makes in twenty of thirty-seven losses and thirty-six of eighty-three games overall. There’s little support there for calling the new four-game pattern durable. He’s projected to start at center, while Jock Landale is out and Jalen Johnson is questionable; that unsettled frontcourt is another reason to avoid assuming his recent workload will stay fixed.

Choose the part of Atlanta’s offense you want to challenge
McCollum’s assist under offers more potential profit on the same stake, with a recent bench game that shows he can still create plenty. Okongwu’s under suits a view that Atlanta won’t get multiple threes from its center, but his latest shooting makes that a real choice. You can use the comparison that fits your Washington outlook without automatically taking both. Separate records don’t establish a combined chance of success, and the book can adjust related-leg pricing.
