Brewers Parlay Picks vs. Rays: Side & Support Parlay Plays

Jonny DeLuca scored in Tampa Bay’s 4–3 win Tuesday, while Garrett Mitchell went 0-for-5 for Milwaukee. Those two lines help frame the choices for Brewers parlay picks in Game 5: asking DeLuca to stay off the scoreboard, or asking Mitchell for one contribution after an empty night.

For this Side & Support edition, the starting point is a Milwaukee victory. We’re comparing player props that have often accompanied Brewers wins or Rays losses, then weighing those season records against the latest games and the actual prices. You can choose the support that fits your view of the Brewers–Rays matchup.

The distinction is useful. DeLuca can collect a hit and still finish without a run; Mitchell has three ways to clear his combined-stat line. One option asks for a quieter Tampa Bay contribution, while the other needs Milwaukee’s center fielder to take part.

Two props to weigh with a Brewers win

Jonny DeLuca: under 0.5 runs scored

DeLuca’s runs under is −311 at DraftKings. This is a bet on him staying off the scoreboard, rather than going hitless. A single or a walk can leave the under intact if Tampa Bay doesn’t bring him home.

He’s finished without a run in 29 of the 34 Rays losses he’s started this season, compared with 62 of 96 starts overall. That is the clearest separation between the result-specific record and the all-game record in this pair. It gives the under a reason to feature in a Milwaukee-win discussion.

The postseason record offers support, with no run in all five Tampa Bay losses he’s started. Five games are a small addition to the season’s evidence, though. They don’t make the under automatic or tell us how a particular Rays loss will unfold.

Tuesday supplies the counterexample: DeLuca went 1-for-5 and scored in the 4–3 Rays win. One trip around the bases is enough to beat this line, even in a close game. The price also matters. A winning $100 stake earns about $32.15 in profit at −311, so the larger historical rate comes with the smaller payout.

Garrett Mitchell: 1+ hit, run or RBI

Mitchell offers a more flexible batting target at −157. DraftKings’ over 0.5 combined hits, runs and RBIs needs just one contribution from those three columns. A single clears it; so does scoring after reaching another way, or driving in a run without a hit.

He’s reached that mark in 72 of his 88 starts in Brewers wins this season, against 100 of 137 starts overall. That 81.8% winning-game record deserves consideration, but the recent evidence is less convincing than the full-season figure might suggest.

Mitchell has contributed in eight of his 12 postseason starts, including eight of ten Milwaukee wins. The two winning-game misses came on October 12 and October 23. He then went 0-for-5 without a run or RBI in Tuesday’s loss. Those empty nights remain part of the case, rather than being brushed aside because the longer record looks good.

The lower price is the attraction when comparing these two props: −157 earns about $63.69 profit on a winning $100 stake. You’re getting more payout than DeLuca’s under, with a less consistent historical record and a hitter who needs to contribute after those recent misses.

Brewers parlay picks: choosing your support

DeLuca’s under is the more expensive option, supported by the larger gap between his record in Rays losses and all his starts. Mitchell costs less and gives you several ways to get one contribution, but his recent blank nights deserve weight alongside the season-long record.

Compare them as choices before deciding to use both. Their separate histories don’t establish the chance of a combined ticket winning. If you add a player prop to Milwaukee, use the sportsbook’s actual same-game quote rather than multiplying the individual prices.
