Chargers Parlay Picks vs. Texans: Side & Support Parlay Plays

Dalton Schultz and Xavier Hutchinson each drew six targets in Houston’s latest loss to the Giants. Schultz finished with 45 receiving yards and Hutchinson with 17. If you’re backing the Chargers to get their first win of the season, those contributions are a useful reminder that an opposing pass catcher can stay involved even when Houston loses.

These Chargers parlay picks consider Schultz for 25 yards, Hutchinson for 15 and C.J. Stroud for ten rushing yards. Side & Support Parlay Plays looks at their records in Texans losses, then compares them with all of their Houston appearances. All three options come from the opposing offense; none requires every Texan to have a quiet day.

Chargers parlay picks for an upset of Houston

The table uses each player’s current-club appearances across the 2025 and 2026 regular seasons. Ten Texans losses are still a small sample, with this year’s results and recent role changes discussed below. Individual DraftKings prices were observed Sunday morning, November 8, and can change.

Dalton Schultz: 25+ receiving yards

Schultz’s 45 yards against the Giants came on five catches, matching Hutchinson for the team lead in targets. That fits the receiving option here: a useful tight end contribution without asking for a touchdown or a particularly big yardage total. He’s reached 25 in four of Houston’s five losses this season.

DraftKings offered 25+ at −247, compared with 30+ at −171. Moving up removes two losing games from last year: 28 yards against the Rams and 29 against Tampa Bay. Both were three-catch performances. The higher target reached only seven of Houston’s ten losses across the two regular seasons, and seventeen of twenty-four appearances overall. The larger payout asks you to give up some fairly ordinary tight end afternoons.

Dropping to 20+ cost −379 and covered the same nine losses as 25. It reached twenty-one of twenty-four appearances overall, two more than 25 yards, but both extra games were Houston wins: 24 yards against San Francisco and 22 against Kansas City last year. If your premise is a Chargers upset, the extra cost didn’t add another losing-game example in this history.

The miss in a Houston loss was nine yards on two catches against Dallas this season. Schultz also had only 19 yards in last year’s win over the Chargers, so the matchup itself hasn’t guaranteed this target. His playoff appearances were split: 47 yards in the loss to New England and 12 in the win over Pittsburgh. Those playoff games are separate from the table, and the low totals keep the 25-yard request in perspective.

Xavier Hutchinson: 15+ receiving yards

Hutchinson has reached 15 yards in all five of Houston’s losses this year, but his latest 17 against the Giants leaves little room to raise the target. Three catches on six targets produced that total, including a late touchdown. Getting opportunities and gaining plenty of yards from them haven’t been the same thing.

The 15+ offer cost −199. At 20+ for −130, both those 17 yards and a 16-yard loss to Jacksonville last year would fall short. That leaves seven of ten Houston losses across the two regular seasons, and thirteen of twenty-three appearances overall, compared with eighteen at 15 yards. The lower target keeps those small contributions, while the larger payout at 20 asks for more from a receiver who isn’t the first option.

At 10+ for −336, the record improves by one loss: Hutchinson caught one of four targets for 13 yards against Seattle last year. That was his only miss at 15 in the losing-game record. Ten yards reached all ten losses and twenty of twenty-three appearances overall. This year’s ten-yard performance in a win over Jacksonville is another reminder that 15 isn’t automatic, even when he catches a couple of passes.

Hutchinson remains third on the depth chart. His six targets in the latest game tied Schultz, but he ran 15 routes, behind Nico Collins’s 24. The receiver group is changing with Marvin Harrison Jr. arriving by trade, Tank Dell returning from injury and Jaylin Noel going on injured reserve. That makes a modest target easier to consider than a bigger receiving day, while leaving his share of the throws uncertain.

He had 44 yards on four catches in the playoff loss to New England, and 21 in the win over Pittsburgh. Those games sit outside the regular-season table. His longer record supports looking for a small contribution in defeat, with the current crowd of receivers still part of the decision.

C.J. Stroud: 10+ rushing yards

Stroud gives you a different way to look for Houston production. He has reached ten rushing yards in four of the Texans’ five losses this season, including totals of exactly ten against Indianapolis and twelve against Dallas. That doesn’t require a big rushing game from the quarterback.

DraftKings offered 10+ at +116. Over 7.5 rushing yards was −115, and an 8+ milestone had the same −115 price. Both lower targets covered the same nine losses and thirteen of twenty-one appearances overall as ten yards across the two regular seasons. There wasn’t an eight- or nine-yard appearance in that history for the lower target to recover.

Moving to 15+ paid +209 but reduced the record to six of ten losses and eight of twenty-one appearances overall. The ten yards against Indianapolis and twelve against Dallas this year, plus twelve against Denver last year, explain the gap. Ten leaves room for a smaller contribution instead of needing another run or a longer gain.

The latest loss is the exception: Stroud ran twice for just four yards against the Giants. He also finished last year’s win over the Chargers with zero rushing yards on four carries. In the playoffs, he had eleven in the loss to New England and zero in the win over Pittsburgh. His rushing total can remain low despite taking the field and carrying the ball, which matters more here than assuming a Houston loss will make him run.

Choose where you expect Houston to contribute

If you expect Stroud to pick up a few yards on the ground, his ten-yard target offers a plus-price route. The receiving options ask for short contributions through the air. Schultz and Hutchinson are competing for opportunities in the same passing game, so their separate records aren’t evidence that taking both improves the combination. You can choose the contribution that fits your Chargers-win view without using all three or treating their rates as a combined probability.
