One shot was enough for Trevor Connelly to score in Vegas’s loss to Boston. Ivan Barbashev put one on net too. That same shot count would clear either of the two props below, even though one asks you to take an under.
If you’re looking for Penguins parlay picks around a Pittsburgh win, you can compare those two Vegas forwards. Connelly has to stay below two shots, while Barbashev needs at least one. DraftKings listed Pittsburgh at −108 on Tuesday morning. Prices can change.
Two ways to play the Vegas shot markets
The two offers use different players, prices and sample sizes. Connelly’s record covers all 16 of his Vegas appearances this season. Barbashev has 120 eligible games across this season and last. Both options compare Vegas losses with the same player’s full sample.
| Player & prop | Odds | With this result | All games |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trevor Connelly Under 1.5 shots on goal All 16 Vegas appearances |
+100 | 85.7% (6/7) Vegas losses |
50.0% (8/16) |
| Ivan Barbashev 1+ shot on goal 2025–26 and 2026–27 Vegas appearances |
−450 | 86.2% (50/58) Vegas losses |
76.7% (92/120) |
Trevor Connelly under 1.5 shots on goal (+100)
Connelly stayed below two shots in six of seven Vegas losses, compared with eight of 16 games overall. A goal can still fit the under, as Boston showed. He scored on his only shot and played 14:17 in the 3–2 defeat.
He’s logged ice time in all 16 Vegas games in this sample, and the losing-game miss came in New Jersey. Connelly put two shots on net in 16:57 that night. He also went over the line in the first Pittsburgh meeting on October 17, when he had two shots and a goal in a 6–2 Vegas win.
The even-money price is the cheaper of the two options. Seven losses is a small group, and he reached two shots in half of all 16 appearances. This choice fits a Pittsburgh-win view that also leaves Connelly with few chances on net.
Ivan Barbashev 1+ shot on goal (−450)
Barbashev recorded a shot in 50 of 58 Vegas losses and 92 of 120 games overall. He’s projected to skate on the top line with Jack Eichel and Mark Stone. One shot was enough for this target in Boston, and he recorded three in the preceding loss at New Jersey.
The broader sample is stronger than his current run. He’s reached one shot in five of seven Vegas losses this season and 11 of 16 games overall. He also finished without a shot in the first Pittsburgh meeting, despite playing 14:12. A top-line assignment gives him chances to find the net, but he’s had quiet nights in that role.
DraftKings also showed a two-shot over at +100. That higher target landed in 37 of the same 58 Vegas losses, versus 50 for the one-shot milestone. The lower line adds 13 games to the historical hit count in those losses. Paying −450 for that cushion is a steep trade, especially after two misses in seven Vegas losses this season.
Compare the prices against the game you expect
If you expect Pittsburgh to limit Connelly’s chances, his under is the even-money option. Barbashev can still get a shot in a quiet Vegas game, but his price leaves little room for a repeat of the last Pittsburgh meeting. Compare the two individually. The pace of the game can affect both, and the table gives no combined price.
