Mason McTavish put five shots on goal in Montreal without scoring or setting up a goal. The Blues lost 2–0. If you’re backing the Rangers against St. Louis, that’s one way a Blues forward can help your ticket even in defeat.
These Rangers parlay picks start with a New York win. Adam Fox gives you a route through the Rangers’ scoring, while McTavish only needs to get the puck on net. DraftKings listed New York at −125 in Tuesday morning’s snapshot. Prices can change.
Two props to compare with the Rangers moneyline
Fox’s record in Rangers wins comes from 33 games. McTavish has played only seven games that St. Louis lost since joining the Blues. The all-game columns use the same players, clubs and dates, so the difference in sample size is visible alongside the percentages.
| Player & prop | Odds | With this result | All games |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adam Fox Over 0.5 points 2025–26 and 2026–27 Rangers appearances |
−155 | 84.8% (28/33) Rangers wins |
62.9% (44/70) |
| Mason McTavish 2+ shots on goal All 14 Blues appearances |
−235 | 85.7% (6/7) Blues losses |
78.6% (11/14) |
Adam Fox over 0.5 points (−155)
Fox can clear this with a goal or an assist. He recorded a point in 28 of 33 Rangers wins and 44 of 70 appearances overall across this season and last. The gap is worth a look if you expect New York to score enough to win. Fox is projected on the top pair, and either kind of scoring contribution clears the line.
He has a point in all seven of his winning appearances this season, with an assist in each. He’s reached the target in 11 of 15 games overall. The goal route has mattered, too. Against Los Angeles on October 26, Fox scored without an assist, clearing the point target in a Rangers loss.
His latest outing shows where the bet can fail. Fox played 23:44 and put two shots on net against Edmonton on Sunday, but he finished without a point in a 4–1 loss. At −155, the attraction is that either kind of scoring contribution counts. Even a long night on the ice can end without one.
Mason McTavish 2+ shots on goal (−235)
McTavish has reached two shots in six of his seven Blues losses and 11 of 14 games overall. That’s his entire St. Louis sample. He’s projected at second-line center, and the target has landed through different kinds of games. He put three shots on goal without a point in the Colorado loss and five without a point in Montreal.
The Carolina loss is the counterexample. He played 17:08 and finished without a shot on goal. He also came up short in the latest game, putting one shot on net in 16:39 against Detroit. St. Louis won that game, so it belongs in the all-game record and shows how a modest target can still miss.
At −235, you’re paying more for a target backed by just seven St. Louis losses. McTavish’s route is useful if you expect St. Louis to generate chances even in defeat. At that price, the small sample and the latest one-shot game are reasons to be selective.
Which part of the matchup do you want to back?
If you expect Fox to help create a Rangers goal, he gives you the less expensive option. If your read is that St. Louis will still get chances in a loss, McTavish’s shots are a different route. You can choose one without stacking both. A fast game can help both props, so the individual records don’t tell you the chance of hitting them together.
