Tampa Bay needs a response after Monday’s 10–1 loss, and Junior Caminero and Chandler Simpson give Rays parlay picks a straightforward place to start. Each has recorded at least one combined hit, run or RBI in roughly 84% of the Rays wins he’s started this season.
If you see Tampa Bay extending the World Series, Side & Support helps connect that result with the smaller player outcomes around it. Here, that means comparing two Rays batting options with something that has often happened when Milwaukee loses: Sal Frelick finishing without a run.
You don’t need every angle to tell exactly the same story. The useful choice is whether you’d rather ask a Rays hitter to contribute or a Brewers hitter to stay off the scoreboard.
Three props to weigh with a Rays win
Records cover each player’s starts for his current team this season, including the playoffs.
| Player & prop | Odds | With this result | All games |
|---|---|---|---|
| Junior Caminero 1+ hit, run or RBI |
−246 | 84.8% 89 of 105 TB wins |
77.6% 135 of 174 starts |
| Chandler Simpson 1+ hit, run or RBI |
−302 | 84.0% 79 of 94 TB wins |
79.2% 122 of 154 starts |
| Sal Frelick Under 0.5 runs scored |
−292 | 84.8% 28 of 33 MIL losses |
65.3% 64 of 98 starts |
Junior Caminero: 1+ hit, run or RBI
Caminero’s 1+ combined hits, runs and RBIs line is −246 at DraftKings. One single clears it, but so does a run or an RBI without a hit. That gives him more routes than a hits-only bet.
He’s reached the mark in 89 of his 105 starts in Rays wins this season, compared with 135 of 174 starts overall. The winning record includes six of seven postseason wins he’s started. That’s a useful season-long pattern, with the playoff results adding context rather than replacing the larger sample.
Monday was the other side of the story: he went 0-for-3 without a run or an RBI. He had contributed in the first two World Series games, even though Tampa Bay lost both. A Rays victory is our starting scenario here; it still leaves Caminero with his own job to do.
Chandler Simpson: 1+ hit, run or RBI
Simpson carries a similar record in Tampa Bay wins, reaching this combined-stat target in 79 of 94 winning starts. His overall record is 122 of 154 starts. DraftKings prices his 1+ line at −302, so it costs more than Caminero’s despite a slightly lower historical rate in wins.
The appeal is the modest requirement. You don’t need a home run, a stolen base or multiple hits; any one hit, run or RBI does the job. His last two starts before Game 3 produced two and three combined contributions, respectively.
Like Caminero, he came up empty Monday. He’s still reached the mark in eight of his last ten starts overall and five of the six Rays postseason wins he’s started. The records make him worth considering, while the price gives you a clear reason to compare him with Caminero instead of automatically adding both.
Sal Frelick: under 0.5 runs scored
Frelick gives you the under side of a Tampa Bay win. At −292, this asks him to finish without scoring a run. He can collect a hit or draw a walk and still stay under; the question is whether Milwaukee brings him home.
He’s finished scoreless in 28 of his 33 starts in Brewers losses this season, compared with 64 of 98 starts overall. That’s a larger difference between the result-specific record and the full-season record than either Rays batting option shows.
Recent games pull the other way. Frelick has scored in five of his last ten starts, including Games 2 and 3 of the World Series. Milwaukee’s offense is coming off a big night, so the under is a choice about how a Rays win might unfold—not a claim that every Brewers hitter has to struggle.
Rays parlay picks: choosing your support
Caminero offers the lower-priced way to ask a Rays hitter for one contribution. Simpson has a comparable winning-game record at a higher price. Frelick’s under takes a different approach, pairing a Tampa Bay win with one Milwaukee player staying off the scoreboard.
If you use both Rays hitters, remember that some of their chances depend on the same rallies. Compare the individual requirements and the sportsbook’s final combination price before deciding how much support your Rays win needs.
