A Washington win doesn’t require Donovan Mitchell to go quiet. He’s made at least two threes in 31 of his 36 Cleveland losses since the start of last season. That gives you a different way to approach Wizards parlay picks: allow the opposing scorer to contribute while Washington gets the result.
For this Side & Support edition, compare that shooting route with Tre Johnson’s eight points off Washington’s bench. We look at what each player has done in the relevant team wins or losses, then weigh the recent games and the price. Johnson offers the larger individual payout; Mitchell brings the bigger sample.

Records cover each player’s appearances with his current team from the start of the 2025–26 season through completed games before this matchup, including postseason games. Each row uses the same history for its win/loss and all-game records. DraftKings prices were observed on October 28 and can change.
Tre Johnson: 8+ points
Johnson reached eight points in 13 of his 14 Washington wins across the window, compared with 54 of 64 appearances overall. Fourteen wins is a much smaller sample than Mitchell’s 36 losses, and the current Washington rotation includes Trae Young and Anthony Davis. The opening games help show how Johnson fits now.
He’s scored eight, 20, 13 and seven points in 19, 26, 23 and 23 minutes this season. Both Wizards wins included eight or more, but Monday’s seven-point loss is a useful reminder of how close this mark can be. He made one of six threes that night. His only miss in a win across the wider sample was six points in 22 minutes in January.
Johnson has reached eight in nine of his last ten appearances. DraftKings lists 8+ at -203, about $49.26 profit on a $100 stake, with a current projection of 23 minutes. Moving to ten points raises the return to about $90.91 at -110, but his eight-point opener shows the cost of asking for those extra two points.
Donovan Mitchell: 2+ made threes
Mitchell’s milestone of two made threes has been almost equally frequent in Cleveland losses and his overall record: 31 of 36 losses versus 78 of 91 appearances. That’s a resilience argument for this Washington scenario. You can expect him to remain involved without needing his team to win.
He’s made two, two and five threes in his three games this season, and reached two in nine of his last ten appearances. The recent miss was one made three in a 42-minute playoff win. Five Cleveland losses in the larger sample also finished below two, including a one-three playoff game in 33 minutes. A full workload hasn’t removed the shooting risk.
DraftKings prices 2+ at -383, about $26.11 profit on $100. Three made threes offers about $75.19 at -133, but it would have missed his first two games this season. He’s projected for 35 minutes. The lower milestone buys room for a modest shooting night, with a noticeably shorter payout.
Let the payout and workload guide the choice
Johnson keeps your supporting prop on Washington and pays more, with a smaller winning-game sample and a bench workload. Mitchell’s threes leave room for a productive Cleveland scorer in the upset you’re backing. Neither option needs to become a mandatory second leg. These separate historical records don’t establish a combined chance of winning, and related-leg pricing can change the sportsbook’s quote.
