Quinn Hughes scored against Washington on Sunday. If you’d backed him for an assist, that goal wouldn’t have helped. That distinction matters on both sides of this matchup, with Jamie Drysdale coming off three assists against Utah.
DraftKings listed Minnesota at −175 against Philadelphia. If you’re backing the Wild, consider whether you expect Hughes to get on the scoresheet or Minnesota to keep Drysdale from setting up a goal.
Two scoring roles from the blue line
Hughes can clear his line with a goal or an assist. A goal can leave Drysdale’s under intact, but any assist beats it. The table uses each player’s appearances with his current club across this season and last.
| Player & prop | Odds | With this result | All games |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quinn Hughes Over 0.5 points 2025–26 and 2026–27 Minnesota appearances |
−225 | 81.0% (34/42) Wild wins |
74.7% (56/75) |
| Jamie Drysdale Under 0.5 assists 2025–26 and 2026–27 Philadelphia appearances |
−220 | 83.3% (45/54) Flyers losses |
76.0% (79/104) |
Quinn Hughes over 0.5 points (−225)
Hughes recorded a point in 34 of 42 Minnesota wins and 56 of 75 appearances overall. This season he has a point in nine of 10 wins and 14 of 16 games overall. His projected top-pair role gives him plenty of time to contribute. He played 29:41 in Sunday’s 5–1 win over Washington.
His only scoreless win this season came against Columbus, when he played 25:21. Even a full workload can leave him without a point. In his latest game, it was a goal that cleared the line. An assist-only offer would have missed that night.
DraftKings offered over 0.5 assists at −170. The −225 point line costs more and also counts a goal. If you expect Hughes to shoot from the point, that extra way to cash is what you’re paying for.
Jamie Drysdale under 0.5 assists (−220)
Drysdale went without an assist in 45 of 54 Flyers losses and 79 of 104 appearances overall. He’s done so in 11 of 12 losses and 13 of 16 games overall this season. His goal without an assist against Columbus is an example of how the line can survive a scoring contribution.
Sunday’s three assists against Utah came in 21:26 and are the clearest recent reminder of the risk. His one assist in a loss this season came against Anaheim, when he played 24:04. He’s projected on Philadelphia’s top pair, so a Flyers loss can still give him enough time to set up a goal.
At −220, the under fits a view that Minnesota can limit Drysdale’s setups. The under missed in nine Flyers losses. His top-pair minutes make it worth asking how many chances you expect Philadelphia to create even if Minnesota wins.
Compare the scoring routes at similar prices
Hughes can land his point through either kind of contribution. Drysdale can score without beating his under, but any setup that leads to a goal changes the outcome. The offers are close in price, so weigh which role fits your view of the matchup. Each price is for the individual prop.
