Hurricanes Parlay Picks vs. Predators: Side & Support Parlay Plays

Backing Carolina doesn’t mean you have to count on a quiet night from Roman Josi. He put two shots on goal without a point in Nashville’s loss to Pittsburgh. Steven Stamkos scored in that same game without picking up an assist.

DraftKings listed Carolina at −198 against Nashville. Both supporting props were −200, so you can compare them at the same price. One needs Josi to put at least two shots on net. The other needs Stamkos to finish without an assist.

Two Nashville props at the same price

Stamkos can score and still stay under his assist line. Josi can clear his shot line without scoring or setting up a goal. The table compares Nashville losses with each player’s full Predators record across this season and last.

Steven Stamkos under 0.5 assists (−200)

Stamkos went without an assist in 44 of 53 Nashville losses and 69 of 96 appearances overall. In the loss to Pittsburgh, he scored without an assist. That is the kind of contribution this under can survive, even if Carolina allows Nashville to score.

The current record in defeats is weaker. He’s gone without an assist in six of nine losses this season and eight of 14 games overall. He had an assist in 20:42 against the Islanders in a Nashville loss. His projected spot with Ryan O’Reilly and Mavrik Bourque gives him opportunities to set up a teammate even in a defeat.

At −200, you’re paying for Stamkos to stay out of the setup. A goal like the one he scored against Tampa Bay still leaves the under intact.

Roman Josi 2+ shots on goal (−200)

Josi reached two shots in 34 of 42 Nashville losses and 66 of 82 appearances overall. Those rates are nearly identical. The historical case rests on his shot volume, and he’s reached the line in eight of nine losses this season and 11 of 14 games overall.

He’s projected on Nashville’s top pair. He played 27:33 and put five shots on net against Tampa Bay without a point. He also reached two shots without a point in the Pittsburgh loss. Even substantial ice time can produce fewer than two shots, as his one-shot game in 24:36 against St. Louis shows.

At the same −200 price, Josi fits a view that Nashville can get attempts on goal from the blue line without winning. The matched records give little reason to favor the shot line solely because you’re backing Carolina.

Decide which Nashville chances fit your game view

Stamkos’s line leaves room for him to score while asking Carolina to limit his setups. Josi only needs two shots on net. The prices match, so the choice comes down to which of those contributions you expect. If you expect Nashville’s chances to come mostly from the blue line, Josi’s shot prop is the more direct way to play that view.
